Dani
Dani Prater is an Office Manager for an Accounting firm in Dallas, Texas. She is married to her wonderful husband, Chris and has a daughter, Sydni.
She started dance at the age of 5 and only had classes on and off. She was on drill team in high school and on a dance team in college. This is where she found her love for dance. After over ten years of stepping away from dance, Dani wanted to get back in, but in something different. This is where she found a whole new world of dancing and her actual "passion" for dance. Dani has been exploring exotic and pole dancing since 2008. She says that not only does this work out every muscle in your body, but it also makes you focus on yourself as the beautiful woman that you are right here right now.
Dani was asked what made her decide to start teaching and she said "I love to help people discover that little spark inside them and then share with them what can make that spark turn into a burning fire. Plus, I'm not only a teacher but I'm also a student. I love to learn something new everyday from other teachers and other students."
She was also asked what she would say to her future students and she said very simply "Step up and open your mind or step back and close yourself off." Then she added "It's not what you think at all. From the philosophy that we have and share, to the moves we do, down to what you discover that you didn't know what your body can do......it's not what you think at all."
Dani was asked what do you want to let others know they will get from taking a class with you and her response was "That I hope you learned something about yourself today and I hope that you embraced it. Whether it's a limitation that you're going to work on to achieve or something that wasn't a limitation at all but you thought it was. I hope that you walk out of class loving yourself and your strengths just a little more".
Dani's musial home is Alternative and Rock. She loves all types of music and one would sense that in her class, but find her alone and she will be rocking out.

Mindy
Mindy has an extremely varied background and has always loved to dance. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. She worked as a Software Engineer for one of the largest corporations in the world. She was laid off from this position and used her layoff benefits to go to massage school to become a Registered Massage Therapist. She was then rehired by her old company to travel all over the US training nurses and radiology tech users on the Cardiac Cath Lab software she had written. Soon after, Mindy got married and became pregnant with her first child and put a stop to her traveling days. Now Mindy is a stay-at-home mom of an almost two-year old little girl! She also pole dances obsessively at any given moment.
Mindy started gaining weight when she was in third or fourth grade, right about the time when she stopped taking ballet/tap/jazz. Although she was involved with some physical activities, she continued to gain weight until her early 20's. At her heaviest, she weighed about 230 lbs. In 2001, Mindy discovered West Coast Swing, a sultry, jazzy partner dance. Mindy started doing swing competitions in 2005, and that obsession led her to lose 60 lbs! Mindy finally realized that activity is the key to managing her weight, and that “dancer” is part of her essential self.
Mindy took her first pole dance class while she was pregnant, and loved it. She started poling again in early 2009. It was difficult at first, but soon, she noticed ability, strength, and definition in her body that she had never had before.
Pole dancing beautifully combines Mindy's engineering mind with her free-spirited dancer side; it’s sexy and fun and challenging all at the same time. She sees every student as a priceless opportunity to learn more about poling, since everyone brings their own unique signature to pole dancing.
Mindy can’t help but respond to music. She loves the challenge of pole dancing to "odd" things like waltzs, country music, even children's songs! But the music that forces her to dance is anything with a strong beat and/or bass. Mindy loves helping other people remember that moving to music is an inborn response, and that they already know how to dance.
